Considering the growing nature of PechaKucha Night, as well as our efforts in finding global partners who could help offset the mounting costs of the global network, we’ve put together a more detailed guideline on how you can go about using sponsorship at your events.
Our agreement with all PechaKucha Night organizers has always included a point that indicates that you are allowed to use local sponsors to support your series -- we do realize that running a PechaKucha Night series involves costs that need to be covered somehow, whether it’s through a door fee or other arrangements.
A sponsor cannot be seen as powering or presenting a PechaKucha Night event. For example, it is not acceptable to have an event titled SPONSOR Presents PechaKucha Night or SPONSOR x PechaKucha Night. This constitutes commercial advertising. A sponsor’s logo can be included on your promotional material, and its support can be included in the description of the event.
If you are looking to do an event where the sponsor is fully behind the event, then it may be more appropriate to do it as a Powered by PechaKucha Event, for which we should be informed.
Even if you are receiving sponsorship help for your series, all of the regular PechaKucha Night graphic guidelines need to be followed, which means inclusion of the official PechaKucha Night logo, as well as the Authorized City boilerplate, on all promotional material.
If we enter in a partnership with a global brand that would include a presence at your events (through the City Loop), we ask that you do not use a local sponsor in the same product category, unless your local sponsor has no issues with the presence of the global partner.
